Well, my dad's business partner's daughter asked for an AG last Christmas, and he wouldn't get it for her, he said they were too expensive (they are NOT poor, lol). When he told my dad he said no, my dad about had a heart attack, and said to him, "Do you know how many of those dolls we have in this house? They are practically members of the family! They're the best toy you could have gotten her. You're just plain crazy." Then my dad called me, and told me that he was going to use company money to buy her an AG. He gave me $50 to get her one of my choosing at MCM. I got her a gorgeous Felicity, who I swear must have been PM with that coppery hair (she was GORGEOUS). And we sent it to her for her b-day, which was just this Saturday. Saturday night, she called my parents and thanked them and me, and said Lissie was by far the best present she got for her birthday. My mom promised her that she could come to our house sometime soon, and see all my dolls, and that I'd play with them with her. I just thought it was such a sweet story that ya'll would want to hear it

Your dad cracks me up. That is hilarious - and also a lovely story.
You have to wonder what kind of stuff he spends money on for himself...I realize $100 is a lot of money for a doll, but PLEASE - how many unused power tools does HE have? And how does he feel about $25 Barbie dolls? (Not that there's anything wrong with Barbie, but I've always thought that's a LOT of dough for her!)
I'm glad she likes her doll! Good choice.

What a great story! and what a nice generous thing your family did for that little girl. She is going to treasure that doll forever.
